My journey in Audio From Covid to 2022. - Multitrack to Bespoken Media

After graduating from University a few weeks into the pandemic. I found myself in a hard place to find work. I was overqualified for BBC Schemes and other work-based schemes I applied for. I was also on the other spectrum where I was underqualified for the jobs I applied for. So, I allow myself like most during this time fall into a rut and had no way of escaping.

Summer of 2022 I came across Multitrack. Multitrack is a charity-based company that helps un-represented groups get into the audio industry. So I applied. with some luck and my passion for audio, I was accepted into the fellowship that started in September. As a disabled person with Cerebral Palsy (CP), I was excited to start my journey again in the audio space. I am also delighted to become another person in the industry that can bring change to the disabled and un-represented communities in the audio space.

During my time on the fellowship is was assigned to a company two days a week. This is where I was able to gather my experience working in the audio and podcast industry. The company I was assigned to was Bespoken Media. During this period I had many daily tasks such as researching, Finding guests for the Scottish audio network, Scriptwriting, and of course, the most important part is definitely where my passion lies editing. As well as my two-day work experience Multitrack has training days where they have the companies that are involved train the fellows on different topics and skills. such as duty of care, recording on location, and many more throughout the two months.

As I am coming to the end of my fellowship I am glad to say I have enjoyed every second of the process. I have learned so many new techniques and skills, I have met so many wonderful insightful people during my time doing this process and I cannot thank the people. that allowed me the chance to gain the experience I needed to work in the industry but believed in myself and my passion during my application and interview stage. I will be forever grateful to the Multitrack team and Bespoken Media for giving me this opportunity...
